Goats, like the pet I share my house with, seem to have an acute sense of where they want to be relation to the sun. These goats were mainly sticking to the shady side of the road between Aegiali and Hora, on the island of Amorgos. Some of their relations, though, found shade on the far side of the guard rail, on the other side of the road.On the Shady Side, 12x16, oil on linen, #431

    I admire your compositions like this in which you’ve painted goats in a value close to the background, on the periphery, so that the focal point goats have company but the composition still works.
